If Camping opens at 8:00AM on Thursday when and where do folks start queuing up for the main campground? And what are the odds of there being a spot in the campground that we could stay in on Wednesday evening?

Last year I was the line at 8:00AM on Thursday. A few folks showed up over the next couple hours. We had to wait until 10 ish before some people started to leave so we could get in. Several folks were there Wednesday night and just stayed for the weekend. If you are lucky enough to get a spot and pay for Wednesday night you should be all set. The 8:00 CG opening time seems based on availability and no one is ever in a hurry to leave Telluride. The old noon opening was more realistic for empty spots but did have a longer queue and a bit of a hectic dash once opened. |

Sounds like there won't be masses of folks tryin' to get into camping at 8:00am Thursday.
I figure we'll pull in around 10pm on Wednesday. I'm wondering where to go if it's full then...
Anyone else with a town park rv pass planning on showing up Wednesday?

I have worked the Main gate/bridge on Thursday for the last 3 years. Early morning has always been kinda slow. Some people roll in Wed night and don't seem to have a problem finding a site. People are very friendly and most don't mind sharing some ground. I'll be working the campground gate most of Thursday if you need any help.
